why would minnesotans want ‘this’ for a senator?

Date November 18, 2008

with only a few votes over 200 separating senator norm coleman and his challenger, this idiot for senator in minnesota, a recount begins tomorrow. this must be another example of uninformed voters.

ridiculous.  you get what you vote for.

blogging from st. louis

Date November 18, 2008

hi everyone. sorry the blogging has been so light but i have been traveling and am currently sitting in the hyatt regency union station hotel in st. louis. i’ll be blogging from here for a few days.

i wanted to tell you about a woman who sat by me on the plane… her name was claire and she was from alaska — the kenai peninsula to be exact.

of course we struck up a conversation and all we talked about was sarah palin - well, and also game recipes. (no. i don’t do game, but appreciate those who do) talking to claire was facinating! sure i know there are people who live there in alaska who are not fond of sarah palin but not many according to my new friend claire.

claire wasn’t shy about her support of sarah. She talked alot about how the media and other elites made fun of alaskans during the election; how badly sarah and her family were treated; and about how disappointed many alaskans were with the election outcome.

living in uber liberal oregon, i don’t have many opportunities to talk with a political kindred spirit - face to face - outside of my family. but in those 4 hours from portland to st. louis, claire and i shared the highs and very lows of election ‘08 while plotting and planning a successful political future for sarah palin. it was a real treat.

the sons and daughters of liberty

Date November 16, 2008

there is a new blogging network called The Liberty Tree beginning in preparation for the new administration. read about it below:

Do you remember The Liberty Tree and the story that surrounds it? There was an old elm tree that stood in Boston Commons in the days before the American Revolution. It was a beautiful old tree that became a real rallying point – a symbol really - for the growing resistance to the rule of England over the feisty American colonies. Called ‘The Liberty Tree,’ it was often decorated with banners and lanterns by ‘the resisters’ and used in communicating their secret messages to each other. Their meetings were regularly held there to express views against the Crown and to vent frustrated emotions.

When the news of The Liberty Tree spread throughout the colonies, local patriots in each of the 13 colonies formed a ‘Sons of Liberty’ group (or network of sorts) and identified a large tree to be used as a meeting place. In those times, holding an unauthorized assembly was really dangerous business that carried threats of imprisonment or death so the usual places to plot and plan were out of the question. But, the casual appearance of a group chatting beneath a tree seemed much, much safer!

As resistance to the British grew, flags bearing a representation of The Liberty Tree were flown to symbolize the unwavering spirit of liberty itself. These flags were later a common sight during the battles of the American Revolution.

The British made The Liberty Tree an object of great ridicule and scorn. However, the ridicule and scorn were simply ‘just words’ and many from that day forward said it was under The Liberty Tree that America was born, giving its sons and daughters a legacy of liberty.

Liberty is Under Attack

Today, our country faces a threat from abroad and a threat - in the form of ideological conflict - from within. With the coming of a new administration and the promise of a more bloated and opportunistic government, the need for citizens to resist complacency and to let their voices be heard, has led to a rekindling of the spirit that founded The Sons (and Daughters) of Liberty.

We at Right Pundits have established a network comprised of blogging patriots who understand that it is the duty of each of us to champion the principles of liberty, freedom, an educated engaged citizenry and representative government. Our network is called ‘The Liberty Tree’ and we are asking you to join us!

In becoming a member of The Liberty Tree Network, you will join an informed community of bloggers that, instead of offering nothing but clever yet empty rhetoric, will actively support and promote liberty, civic responsibility, national security, and the American heritage as our Founding Fathers intended.

We will actively work to expose lies and propaganda of incoming administration and the main stream media while being diligent to maintain honor, truthfulness and integrity in our own reporting.

i’m in. so, do you have a blog or a website? if you do, go here to join The Liberty Tree network today!

“I think I probably would like her if I met her….She had an amazing life for herself and her family in Alaska. Very successful. Before you knew it, she was the most famous person in the country.”

what??!?

Date November 14, 2008

barack obama and his family are not attending his grandmother’s memorial today in hawaii — his grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, raised him. She died on November 2nd just 2 days before the election.

here’s the story:

Memorial service for President-elect Barack Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham, will be held Friday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu.

The Borthwick Mortuary said Wednesday that the service will be open to the public, but the Obama family will not be in attendance.

The president-elect is scheduled to visit Hawaii in December to honor his grandmother, who helped raise him in Honolulu and died two nights before the election. Officials have not specified when Obama will make the trip.

Dunham’s husband, Stanley Dunham, who fought in World War II, was buried at the cemetery following his death in 1992.

you might remember that obama through his grandma under the bus during his campaign a long time ago. even still, i don’t get this.

defending sarah…finally

Date November 12, 2008

jmac was on leno and defended sarah palin fairly vigorously.

my problem with the whole thing is that its almost a week late. as the leader of the party and head of the ticket, he should have been right there to bat down any criticisms of her especially considering how poorly she was treated by media and other blowhards.

its just a reminder of the heartburn i get sometimes because of mccain and ‘his ways.’

right on.

Date November 11, 2008

camille paglia on how democrats treated sarah palin:

“Liberal Democrats are going to wake up from their sadomasochistic, anti-Palin orgy with a very big hangover. The evil genie released during this sorry episode will not so easily go back into its bottle. A shocking level of irrational emotionalism and at times infantile rage was exposed at the heart of current Democratic ideology — contradicting Democratic core principles of compassion, tolerance and independent thought. One would have to look back to the Eisenhower 1950s for parallels to this grotesque lock-step parade of bourgeois provincialism, shallow groupthink and blind prejudice.”

i wonder how long it will take for the majority of americans to wake up and look at the obama’s in the white house and wonder ‘what was i thinking??!?”
