i guess when The One talks from now on, we’re all suppose to listen — and obey. right?
obama recently said that republican leaders need to stop listening to rush limbaugh if they want to get anything done. ORLY? anyone who actually listens to rush limbaugh must have laughed as hard at that as i did - stuff like this energizes him! republicans in congress NEVER listen to rush anyway — if they did, the gop in this country wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in.
but getting back to obama and rush. it didn’t take long for rush to respond saying in part this:
‘If I can be made to serve as a distraction, then there is that much less time debating the merits of the trillion dollar debacle.
One more thing, Byron. Your publication and website have documented Obama’s ties to the teachings of Saul Alinksy while he was community organizing in Chicago. Here is Rule 13 of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals:

that’s what obama wants to do with the conservative voice: target it, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. because if he can do that, he wins.
right now republicans, and conservatives specifically, are in the wilderness for the next four year. personally, i don’t want to wander around pointing fingers and squabbling with other republicans.
i want a plan. i want to push back effectively. i want to run toward the fight - not cower in the corner. i want to fight tough and fight smart. i want to advance the conservative agenda; the one that does NOT need to be re-tooled, updated, or modernized.
i think the gop has some good young conservative turks but their power is limited. in my opinion, rush limbaugh is the true leader of the republican opposition to The One and his agenda. hannity and mark levin (whom i adore) are also banging the drum. am i ranting? sure. is this too dramatic? no. the drama has already past with the election of a saul alinsky socialist.
i don’t want obama to succeed as president. i don’t want more liberalism in this country. i don’t want advanced socialist policies embedded into our country’s fabric.
when i was growing up, i learned a lot about conservatism from rush limbaugh. i ‘get’ him and rush is right. we need to know the strategy being used against us (such as rule #13 of alinsky’s rules for radicals) if we are ever to rebound politically and protect our values.
and we need to use their own strategy ourselves against them: the leftists in this country. so go buy alinsky’s book and study it.

Funny how those who claim they want “rights” expanded continually promote programs and ideas which give more power to a centralized gov’t which strips citizens of their individual freedoms. Any gov’t strong enough to give the citizens all they want is strong enough to take it all away. The left wishes to kill unborn children in the name of their god of selfishness, redefine traditional marriage which has worked quite well for 1,000’s of years, and grow social programs which, if they had worked, would have already alleviated the USA of ever having those in need. But they were never meant to work, it was never the purpose for them to work. The left doesn’t want results, they want gov’t dependents, which is the worst form of slavery and serfdom. Liberalism = New Stalinism.
The left also continually forgets that of the 46% of us who didn’t vote for BHO, we are the one’s who own 80-85% of the wealth of the country. They can try all the various tax code changes or anything else they want to do, but there’s way too many ways to shelter income, and people with capital aren’t going to invest in what they know will be a failed plan. And without the capital investment of the people with money, any plan BHO tries will not work. So far, he has offered nothing to entice capital. And as long as he continues to push his socialist agenda, he won’t.
And BTW, fascism is a subset of Marxism, which is definately left of center. If you had ever read and studied the political ideology of both Mussolini and Hitler, they were big admirers of Marx, and in particular that of socialism.

More on the topic that kate introduced, that BHO felt the need to mention Rush in a meeting tells me that it bothers him someone disagrees with him. He’s got a fragile ego and, in typical lib fashion, wants to silence those who promote a way other than his way.
Anyone recall Bush warning Democrats that they need to quit listening to Randi Rhodes, Mike Malloy, Ed Shultz, Thom Hartmann, or any number of other lib radio types if they want to get along with Republicans? No. That’s because he didn’t care what those radio people said or to whom the Democrats listened. Go to any number of lib blogs and pol sites and you’ll see a stream of desires for Limbaugh, Hannity, and Fox Network in general, to be forceably removed from the air. You just don’t see that on conservative blogs and pol sites when it comes to liberal radio or the liberal media.
In their typical totalitarian way, the left wants to silence the opposition. If they weren’t worried, if they believed themselves to have the correct solutions to the issues, they wouldn’t be desiring that conservatives “SIT THE FUG DOWN AND SHUT THE FUG UP!”, because their actions would prove them to be unmistakably precise. But what’s to happen to them when BHO’s economic package doesn’t work? And, it isn’t going to work.
Basically, the more the libs complain, the more I’m going to give them reasons to complain. I’m not backing off, I’m keeping the pressure on, and there’s nothing they can do about it. Regarding what Ted refers to as “traditional marriage,” well, um, it hasn’t exactly worked for thousands of years, has it? You see, Ted, a little reading would inform you that marriage has, for most of human history, been viewed as an exchange of chattel. Or, is that what you want to return to? Women as property? Dade, I’ve got a little work to finish and then it’s off to watch 24, so I’ve got maybe 10 miuntes to bang this out.
Read your bio and we’re about 75% the same interests. I’m one year older than you, and the main difference was our taste in books. I’m more of a Tom Clancy and John Grisham kinda reader and I’m big into historical writings.
I’m not going to highlight your text and respond, but I’m sure your relate it to the correct thing.
Centralized gov’t is growing the size and scope of the federal gov’t, of which I am opposed. I have no reason to believe the gov’t wire tapped your phone (unless you’re talking to terrorists) and the terrorists do not have either Constitutional nor Geneva Convention rights for various reasons. So in that respect, you’re assigning rights that were either not happening to the degree you believe they were or to people who were captured in battle while not wearing a recognized uniform, etc… I don’t have time to go into the details and you’ve likely heard them before and disagree anyway. So be it.
I view both abortion and special rights for homosexuals to be un-Constitutional for reasons you’ve also likely already heard and disagree, the same arguments of which I agree. So be it.
I have no source, it’s common sense. The Republicans are the party of the wealthy, right? What is it, something like the top 20% of all wage earners own 60% plus of the wealth in the country, I don’t remember exactly. So it only makes sense that the most wealthy are going to vote for the party that preserves their wealth, which by the admission of the D’s would be the R’s. So to say that the wealthy opposed BHO and didn’t vote for him is entirely reasonable, and one in which I’m confident will play out in the economy unless BHO caters to those with capital. So yes, I stand by my belief that the overwhelming majority of those who have the wealth did not vote for BHO, and he either caters to them or he’s in trouble.
BHO’s plan will flatten, if not seriously injure, the economy. I want Americans to prosper, and his turning up the printing presses in the Fed and “redistributing” money is inflationary, He get passed what he desires, we’re going to have some major inflation. Expect food prices to jump in the next two or three years in the same manner they did in the mid to late 70’s.
Fascism was born out of socialism. Like I said, read up on both Mussolini and Hitler. They both admired socialism. Hitler even called his the Nat’l Socialist Party, and he did that for a reason, because it was socialism with a strong emphasis on one’s nationality. You see, the main problem Mussolini and Hitler had with socialism, specifically the International Socialist, were they were not sufficiently nationalistic for either of them, which they believed if properly implemented would strengthen the movement of socialism. Otherwise they supported unions, they opposed discrimination based on social class, they rejected parliamentarianism, and were socialist in virtually every other governing view. So fascism, definately left of center.
Otherwise let me make this quite clear; neither you nor any other lib can say anything to me I haven’t already heard from others just like you 10,000 times before. I know what the response of liberals are going to be on any particular issue before their leaders have told them what their opinion is going to be. There isn’t a single liberal on the face of the planet earth that I couldn’t argue their point of view better than they could, and do so in depths of understanding they could never comprehend. The libs can try and tell me “We don’t believe what you claim we believe. You’re misrepresenting us. Etc….” and I don’t care, because I’ve read and watched and observed and had enough of them admit to me the very things of which I say about them, so I already know what I’m saying is 100% true. I fully expect libs to lie. I fully expect libs to falsely believe they’re the intelligensia. I fully expect them to never admit when they’re wrong and to continually move the goalposts when they’re called out on something. They’ve been doing that very thing on any number of pol boards I’ve been on for the last 8 years; from Indymedia to DU to others, it’s always the same lies and moving the goalposts and weaving. No doubt that you’re no different. Boring, and ultimately not worth my time to try and discuss issues with the left because, like I said, I already know what they’re going to say, why they’re wrong, why they refuse to believe they’re wrong, and the excuses they’ll use.
I have no doubt that you and I could get together and go to a ballgame or go hiking or any number of things and have a good time. You’re probably just a swell guy. And I’m one of the nicest people you’d ever meet in your life. But on-line, I’m not going to put up with the crap, and I know that when I’m dealing with the left I’m dealing with individuals who are married to an ideology rather than the truth. To many of your comrades who have come before you have soured me on hoping the left will ever be committed to anything other than their own selfish indulgences and doing what they can to use gov’t intervention to force people to live in their human secularist utopia, which is anything but a paradise to those who love real freedom. Assistance to a certain degree. It is not the government’s job to make sure you have a job, car, house, money in the bank. That is not in the Constitution. The government’s job is to make sure that nobody stands in your way of pursuing your goals. It’s also the job of government to protect its people, something dems have failed again and again.

Actually Kevin, your party hasn’t done much fighting at all. Its because of Republicans that Al Qaeda is hiding in the mountains of Pakistan in caves afraid to come out into the light. If the dems had their way the Taliban would still be in charge and Osama bin Laden would be running all over the world, kind of like he was when Clinton was in charge.
As hard as the dems fought for our surrender in Iraq, Bush finished the job, not the democrats. Apparently you don’t follow current events either.

I appreciate your even-tempered (if long) response. And, I’m sure you are a good guy.
The problem with these electronic fora is that they often cause people (myself included) to use the anonymity they afford as license to act like asses.
So, while you and I are going to continue to disagree about politics, I shall refrain, henceforth, from tossing any nasty jibes at you. Or, I’ll try anyway.
But, you’ll forgive me if I’m a little skeptical about this statement, eh?
I already know what they’re going to say, why they’re wrong, why they refuse to believe they’re wrong, and the excuses they’ll use.

It’s amazing how blind these liberals are. Don’t you understand Obama is doing nothing more then giving you “women” and liberals what you want and throwing the low income a bone so that he can keep pulling your support in. The 75% of the country who doesn’t pay attention, only knows that Rush said he hopes Obama fails and called him a negro. I know this is a simplification and out of context, but effectively, it doesn’t mater. This doesn’t help the GOP at all. It divides them.

Abortion kills someone who 1. has a full, unique set of human DNA 2. thinks 3. has emotions 4. interacts 5. struggles to live 6. likes some tastes, songs and people’s voices and dislikes others 7. tests and methodically experiments with motor and sensory functions and therefore 8. is a complete, entire, existent human person, no matter how convenient it might be to imagine otherwise.
Abortion does noy undo a pregnancy or te existence of th child. It does not prevent a birth. It does not give anyone anything but a baby corpse and a battered conscience. It it a birth — the birth of a dead baby. It is violent. It is painful for the mother (yes, she is a mother at conception) and the child (yes, she is a child at conception). It is an act of first-strike force against a defenseless little human child. If anything can ever be wrong, evil and unjustifiable it is abortion. A society that tries to pretend freedom has anything in common with abortion “rights”, is quickly losing the very idea of freedom and has long ago lost its sense of right and wrong. Liberalism once did stand for freedom, but gradually in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries the word was co-opted by people like the Nazi sympathizer Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, and similarly-oriented eugenecists whose open plan was to prevent the live birth of me and many millions like me. Liberalism is the essence of hypocrisy as it is today. That is why I’m glad I left the left.
