obama’s stupid racist comment

Date July 23, 2009

even after 7 months of his carefully staged ‘hopechangery’, it’s the unscripted, off the cuff moments when america sees who the real barack obama is. and frankly, it’s just not pretty. there were just sooo many moments in last night’s ‘lying‘ press conference, but this one seems to be resonating with the public and guess what? it didn’t have a thing to do with healthcare.

do you think The iOne knows he lost control of the message? i mean no one is mentioning or debating critically important healthcare issues very much today at all. we’re all salivating over barack obama v the cambridge, massachusettes police department - specifically sgt. james crowley and his arrest of the belligerent friend of obama, harvard prof henry louis gates jr. the story continues to evolve with everyone, from the police union to bill cosby, weighing in on the ’stupidity’ of The iOne’s comment:

“Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof he was in own home.”

and then going on (and on) tying it to racism.

“What I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that there’s a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. That’s just a fact.”

no doubt there has been racism shown in law enforcement actions across this country however there is absolutely none shown in this one.

here’s the police report.

and The iOne? he’s backpeddling because of the stupidity of his racist remarks on a non-racial issue. he didn’t have all the facts — he said so. he should have said something like “because I don’t have all of the facts in the case, no comment.” he should have displayed to the world that post-racial candidate that he claimed he was in the campaign.

but no. instead, the president of the united states pulled a jesse jackson.

_____

update: well it seems The iOne is walking his ’stupidly’ comment backwards. after police unions blasted obama for sticking his nose into a law enforcement issue before he had all the facts, which include 911 and police tapes of the incident, obama said this:

“Because this has been ratcheting up and I helped contribute to ratcheting it up, I want to make clear that in my choice of words I unfortunately gave an impression that I was maligning the Cambridge Police Department or Sgt. Crowley specifically and I could have calibrated those words differently.

“My sense is you’ve got two good people in a circumstance in which neither of them were able to resolve it the way the wanted to resolve it,” President Obama said.

but wait! the ‘it’s not about me’ president also said this:

“I continue to believe based on what I’ve heard that there was an overreaction in pulling Professor Gates out of his home.”

his attempts at defusing the situation, including invited sgt. crowley over to the wh for a beer with prof. gates, only resulted in ’stupidly’ mucking it up again.

The more Obama speaks, the more clear it is he is an ignoramus. There is absolutely nothing special about the guy. He says how can they arrest a guy in his own home? The guy initially refused to produce an ID at all. Then when he left the door to retrieve an ID he thought the officer would wait on the porch. If he doesn’t let himself in the officer is an idiot. He answered a burglary break in call, and a black meeting the description of the potential suspect answers the door but initially refuses to present his ID. Who isn’t to say that this still unidentified suspect isn’t going out the back door? When the jackass prof returned he gave him his Harvard ID. As if that serves as an untamperable ID. It doesn’t even establish where he lives. So the idiot so-called professor goes back and brings an official ID and supposedly is screaming at the officer for both entering his home without being invited and with claims of being profiled. I suppose the prof thought he was white. The descriptions of the suspect was black and he was in the home and refusing to present an ID. What homeowner would act this way? I for one, believe he was hoping to create some publicity for either a book or some other media presentation. Obama should apologize and be done with it but we all know he won’t because it will show he is not perfect.

I bet if his original teleprompter had not comitted suicide, Obama would never have ever said such a stupid thing!

  3. BikerDan said:

Well Marsha you can make a community organizing ACORN sympathizer a President but you obviously can’t take the community organizing ACORN sympathizer out of the President. It looks like to me that the only racists in Cambridge, Mass is named Obama and Gates!

  4. Marsha said:

LOL Dan. Here is the perplexing issue for me: why does the White House always have to explain the words of one of “the most articulate speakers of our time”? Can’t blame it on a rogue teleprompter, he’s dead.

  5. Gunny said:

This has been really fun, but can we get a real President now?

  6. PenniePan said:

Rapid racism is alive and well on this blog! Why aren’t you discussing the points of the healthcare plan that Barack is leading the nation on? Instead you focus on gossip and innuendo and “he said, he said” stuff that means nothing to the average American who needs to know that if there is a medical emergency, his family is covered. You people look for any reason, any little glimmer of opportunity to bash Barack over the smallest of issues! You are shameful people aren’t you?

  7. kate said:

‘rapid racism’?? hmm. do you mean rabid racism?

actually pennie the problem is The iOne himself.

he just doesn’t know when to shut up! he also doesn’t know how to keep the charade going for a full presser. but don’t worry. his handlers will help with that. he’ll be much more careful next time to hide those racist tendencies he picked up in rev. jeremiah wright’s church those 20 years he sat silently in the pew… drinking in the bile.

  8. kate said:

‘What homeowner would act this way?’

    donny exactly!

    marsha you nut. :)

‘It looks like to me that the only racists in Cambridge, Mass is named Obama and Gates!’

    dan lol. ouch!

‘This has been really fun, but can we get a real President now?’

gunny fun??!? it’s a really bad dream!

PenniePan go read the police report cited in the post. Gates acted like a combative, argumentative, pompous ass. He should apologize to the police officer or be fired. Obama needs to think before he talks and apologize to the police at the very least.

    Let’s see:
    1. Prior attempted break in at the residence.
    2. Neighbor called this in as another possible break in.
    3. Cop doing his job, ask for an ID (which I think we are all required to show
when ask be it in our house or not)
    4. Belligerent suspect who thinks he’s above the law.

Penni how is this racist? The only people who are racist in this whole incident are gates and the one.

thanks marsha and gunny I really needed a laugh today. :)

You could expect to get this kind of quick quip from an average person on the street occasionally, revealing their ownprejudices when a microphone is put under their nose, but one would expect the President of the United States to have more sense than to *blather* about a subject that by his own admission, he does not have the facts.

Pennie Pan: Barack Obama is an angry, prejudiced, empty suit who had everything given to him including the presidency. Yet he has a chip on his shoulder and a total lack of discretion and common sense. The emperor has no clothes and as Kate says, it’s not pretty.

    **Hi Kate!**

  12. Jane said:

This is so not newsworthy. It is just being ginned up by you silly rightwingers who look for anything to smear the President with! Well hate to tell you but it was just a comment that was taken completely out of the intent of the President and made to be this big racist issue! Barack was raised by an Indonesian stepfather and then white grandparents in Hawaii, one of our most diverse states. His sister is 1/2 white 1/2 Indonesian. She is married to a Chinese Canadian man. He is NOT a racist!

You demean yourselves with this drivel, milking it for all it’s worth.

  13. Paul said:

Rick I just read the police report which was written by the arresting officer Crowley. It hardly presents a convincing case for arresting Gates!

Crowley says Gates was yelling at him, calling him a racist, and people were watching.

    You get arrested for that?

  14. Marsha said:

    “Gates-gate!”

  15. PenniePan said:

Well have your gossip-fun Lizzi but here are the facts: these extemporaneous remarks from Barack are STILL FAR BETTER than the very best of Bush’s prepared speeches!

  16. lisab said:

    “This is so not newsworthy.”
the comment was made on prime time national tv during a presidential press conference. obama made a point of answering that question.

  17. lisab said:

“Crowley says Gates was yelling at him, calling him a racist, and people were watching.”

actually what he said was that Gates was becoming disorderly,

“I warned Gates that he was becoming disorderly. Gates ignored my warning and continued to yell, which drew the attention both of the police officers and citizens, who appeared surprised and alarmed by Gates’ outburst. For a second time I warned Gates to calm down while I withdrew my department issued handcuffs from their carrying case. Gates again ignored my warning and continued to yell at me. “

  18. lisab said:

    “You get arrested for that?”

for disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace in massachusetts? yup, punishable by up to six months in jail in massachusetts, unless your friend is obama.

His statements were inflamatory…he is not even a US citizen. It is time for this “One” to leave, blah, blah, blah…..

I’m so tired of threads like this trying to create an issue where there isn’t one. The “stupidly” comment was not the best choice of words, especially not knowing the facts. But lets get back to the real issues: were in two wars, health care is broke, the economy is still a mess (due to the last 8 years!!!) and all the right wants to focus on is one statement and questions about his place of birth.

Where is the so-called party of substance, answers, and the “Real America”…bring some solutions, stop with the same old scare tactics it didn’t work in ‘08 and it is not going to work today!

Here’s a clue Limbaugh, Liddy, Savage, O’reilly, and the Christian right are not the answer….

  20. kate said:

    hi andrew. welcome back! :)

on many of you points, i agree. i think the “not a us citizen” is a non-issue. i also would like to get back to the issues of health care and afghanistan and the economy so it would be helpful if obama would guard his tongue a bit and focus in on the things americans really want to talk about. he left himself wide open for this one and to not man up and just say ‘i was wrong’ is dumb.

  21. Rebekah said:

Oh for G-d’s sakes!!! You my dear need to get a grip and expect a lot more from him then what he’s given those of us who were stupid enough to vote for him!!

Please, where the hell have you been ? Theres stimulus spending thats always been around like the little stimulus Bush tossed us all right after 911. It pretty much fixed one of the worst hits to our markets weve ever seen without going 11 trillion into hock over the next 30 years.

    - “diversion, division, and circumventing….there are real issues that need to be addressed and Michael Steele’s answer is to give up because they don’t have the votes….what? really? Hardly a party with “a common goal and a set of values””

Exactly, Steeles right. They should give it up. Its a lost cause that on top of all the other spending is the equivalent of tossing your shovel and getting a backhoe instead when your digging yourself in a rut.
I thinks his values are right on if thy dictate that the dems “quit whilke they’re ahead….little Andy.

“Where is the discourse? And stop with the sanctimonious tone, I realize you have an Associates Degree (although most of us do not consider finishing your Sophmore year of college as a real achievement) but your opinion is just that…yours’”

I dont know what you’re grumbling about. I chipped in my two cents, thats what we do here. If its too overwhelming to the point you have to ask where the discourse is I dont know what to tell you man. Maybe you should ask Obama. The best discourse would of been to just say he f*cked up and that would be that. But no, in his typical arrogany style he had to go and spin this into big ole dance that proved hes still pi$$ed off at his country about something. Harping on and using past incidents of profiling by law enforcement was just plain sickening
I may not of Gone to Harvard or Princeton buddy, and I’ve never professed to be ant genius, but at least I had the smarts at 15 to know that the public school system was failing me and did manage to skip high school completeley taking all GEDs in one day then getting my associates before my balls dropped. I actually did something with that education that went to making me a great life.
Obama on the other hand spent more than a decade studying law so he could do what ? Represent Acorn and be a community organizer and ruin the country ?
Just goes to show Andrew that everythime you guys get all snotty and toss education in peoples faces it only goes to prove that you can spend decades in college and still be as dumb as a bag of rocks.

Nah Andy, I hit it spot on. I know exactly where you’re coming from.
You think you’re brainstorming because you can run off platitudes like Obama and say grandiose spectacular things that sound so wonderful like ” stop with the same old Politics - diversion, division, and circumventing….there are real issues that need to be addressed ” ( If you threw in “world peace” you would of rounded everything off pretty nicely. )
I was being nice by not including the fact the so called “October spending” you’re whining about was never intended to be carried out by Obama in to this humongous spree/debt/deficit like the country has never seen its entire accumalative finacial history. The real spending started in January and anyone who tries to argue that needs their head examined.
To mention Bushs piddly little bail out in Oct as some sort of rebutal to Obamas spending is insane.
Your messiah is actually the single largest proponent of big time government that carries the “same old Politics - diversion, division, and circumventing” that I or any generation has ever seen. Hes taken the crap your saying we need to do away with and brought to whole new level never thought possible bro.
So yeah, I reiterate what I said about Steele…… hes right.

Andrew, you’re the epitome of ridiculous personal and pedantic attacks.
Your last post proves this as well as the two right before it.
This threads conversation pertains to Obamas stupid racist remark and his apology, or lack there of. As I’m disccusing this topic du jour which is the largest portion of, the main context, the meat of the matter, you come flying in here, off topic and start babbling about when the spending started, Michael Steele and bla bla bla f*ckin bla with a bunch of crap that really had little to do with my reflection on the gutless wonders arrogance.

You call me clueless and predictable, you give no example. Yet I’ve already mentioned in my post how your rhetoric is already stamped and homoginized with the ones approval and that all you’d have to do is toss in some “whirled peas’ and you’d of rounded the gammit off nicely like any other well trained Obamtron could of. If I had a buck for everytime I’ve heard you guys run off those platitudes and generalities I could fix this economy single handed.
As far as original thoughts go, your snide little condescending attack here is hardly anything I’ve havent seen between two bloggers ever before.
It almost always happens when the liberal has been shot down with real life events, facts, truth.
Whats really predictable is how liberals get all snotty and condescending when they’ve had their a$$es handed to them “oh your just clueless”, “you dont get it “, ” you’re uneducated” or the ole reliable attack on the grammar comes into play.

Tell you what ? I’ll bet you dont have the balls to actually continue this and see if you could actually point out where it is that I’m so clueless. Enlighten me would you ? Please, I’m so lost I could use a little guidance because I really need to know WTF it is you’re trying to say. (NOT)

By the way, if I were you. I wouldnt go telling the whole world that you know what its like to have been entertained by a pet gerbil. Ask Richard Gere, that sh*t follows him everywhere to this very day.
I guess its safe to say that you’ll go down in Guiness s the only guy who could fit both a gerbil and his head up his a$$ simultaneously.

All too predictable when one recieves criticism for posts that are either too long or too short. Damned if you do and damned if you dont.
If they’re too short the argument goes to you being a cogntive dissonant, or a one dimesional uncomplex thinker, lacking in substance.
If they’re too long the criticism goes to being “long winded” “bloviating” or “ranting”.
I like to serve full portions, that way my customers have the choice to either indulge or snack. I guess it would fall into the conservative philosophy of propelling choices at the hands of capitalistic commerce the good ole American way or being stuck with the minimal and constraining choices the fed seems to wanna offer us.
Bust out the Smorgesborg, take what you want. If its a grain of salt you need theres plenty of that also. Bring a brown bag in case you want to save some to savor later, maybe some treats for the gerbil. But hey, since you did drive your way all the way down here and go thru the bother lets make it worthwhile.
In finishing you might want to apply your own advice to a couple of your posts where you extended into opinions and sentiments that had little to do with the actual subject that more or less left you looking as if you had more on your mind than just the authors post, mostly me.
Is this getting to long ? Am I rambling ? Probably, sorry. I’ll let ya go.

I’ve asked this question before. A white man that questions a black man or looks at him is obviously racist, right? Now I understand sometimes the white man does racially profile the black man. But a black man that has his prejudice against the white man isn’t a big deal? The answer I hear the most is that black people can’t be racist. That’s just what the white man deserves for lets say 200+ years of slavery and oppression. Now where I get confused the most is that even though the black man doesn’t want to be judged and wants to be completely equal and on the same social level as the white man at the same time he doesn’t want to be like the white man or have any association with him. For instance, BET, the black man’s entertainment channel isn’t matched by WET a white man channel. That would be too far over the edge. The NAACP is matched by any white group, non-supremist. Yes the KKK is bad. Why shouldn’t the white minorities in some cities have a group that wants to promote their welfare? I just want to let it be known im not racist. Although that might sound cliche for someone who states the above to say, I seriously just want an answer.

But in order for them to sell you the wooden one they have to convince you that one of your legs is no good due to being a victim of something, past or present. After you’re convinced they chop off one of the good legs , give you a brand new shiney government leg that you can only keep if you elect democrats to maintain it.
Thing is, the good leg never really got cut off and the libs spend most of their efforts trying to keep that a secret.
