latest obama approval poll: the thrill is gone
July 24, 2009
we knew this was coming didn’t we? rasmussen is reporting that The iOne’s approval numbers have dropped below 50% for the first time in his short career as president.
the dems have completely blew it with their insatiable thirst for power and unless the economy recovers miraculously, or some other politically advantageous event occurs, they are so hosed in 2010 and hopefully 2012. they’ve done a lot of damage in six months.
obama has destroyed our economy and wealth while making significant changes to some of our most fundamental institutions with no understanding or appreciation for american exceptionalism whatsoever. and because of the things that obama has done, we are not as free as we use to be.
thanks obama!
but the good news is that their feckless drive to subjugate us is going to have to be scaled back some, resulting in - hopefully - less damage to our country, until the time we can clean up after them.

Polls I saw show him at 55% approval. Still good, but not as good as it used to be.
I don’t understand how we are “less free” than we were when Junior was President. Blind, groundless assertion, I suppose.
Also, this: regardless of Obama’s approval, people STILL despise the Republicans.

Keep dreaming. Barack is King.

King of what?
July 24th, 2009 at 1:21 pm
I would think that the fact yours and my taxes are going up and a deficit for our kids and grandkids is a fair account of loss of freedom.

It seems the more he talks about health care the further his approval rating slips.
July 24th, 2009 at 1:59 pm
Hey Dade!
How about the freedom to choose to have/pay for healthcare or not? How about the choice to let businesses make it or not under the free market systems in this country w/o gov’t interference aka “ownership” and chronic-bailout-syndrome? Look at the loss of jobs, the national debt, and on and on…..
When you spend money like Obama and the democrats are spending it, the well is gonna run dry. It will be you Dade and me and all of our kids and grandkids after us that pay for their spending.

The Emperor has no clothes - and people are finally noticing. (Oh sorry Wytch, that should be King for you).

oh come on. maybe he is down a point or two but this is not career ending. your glee is not only ridiculous its also premature.
July 24th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Another loss of freedom is the kind of cars we drive. Who really wants to drive around in silly clown cars?

Gene;
“oh come on. maybe he is down a point or two but this is not career ending. your glee is not only ridiculous its also premature.”
Down a point or two ?
Wise up. His numbers have been dropping consistently on a regular basis. His approaval ratings are the third worst of any president at this point in their term since WW2
His own party doesnt want his health care plan.
The people dont want it.
The market doesnt want it.
Cap and trade along with the stimulus were fear mongered and rushed down our throats like it was some big f*ckin emergency, they are both so overwhelming in cost at this point no one wants to touch health care unless he can define exactly how it will work, the effects, and how its to be paid for. “HIS CAREER” is depending on this health care package passing. But it wont, theres not enough votes yet and now hes trying to get everyone to skip their vacation on order to vote on it.
Everyone fell for his “if we dont do it now catastrophy will follow” crap twice now.
They’re not going for it a third time. I think hes toast in about 2 months.

Dade;
“Also, this: regardless of Obama’s approval, people STILL despise the Republicans.”
No, not really. At this point more and more people for the first time in a while would trust the republicans to run the economy and congress more than the dems.
(Rasmussen)
A new Rasmussen poll shows likely voters have had a change of heart recently; they now trust Republicans more than Democrats to handle the economy.
The telephone poll of 1,000 likely voters – conducted June 3-6 with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points – asked which party could be trusted more on 10 issues.
Democrats led on health care, Social Security, and education, and the parties tied at 41 percent on abortion. Besides the economy, Republicans were trusted more on national security, immigration, taxes, the Iraq war, and government ethics.
The pollsters told participants, “I’m going to read you a short list of issues in the news. For each, please let me know which political party you trust more to handle that issue.” The list started with the economy.
This is the first time in more than two years that this poll has shown that voters trust Republicans more than Democrats (45 percent to 39 percent) with the economy, perhaps a sign of the effect of the GM and Chrysler bankruptcies (the poll was taken right after GM announced its bankruptcy).”
Now whos got the “groundless assertion ?

Well I’m bummed. This just proves Obama isn’t the messiah after all!
Love the video!!
July 24th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
dade no, my comment about the loss of freedoms since obama’s 5 mins as president are not ‘Blind, groundless assertion’. others have said it before me but surely you — a thinking, hardworking american — can see the debacle obama’s stimulus, the gm takeover, the incredible loss of jobs, the cap and trade initiative, the healthcare reform, et al has limited your choices as a citizen?
kym not only is obama not the messiah, he also isn’t the anti-christ. he’s just too rock-dumb to be that too. to think that the reigns of the most powerful nation in history are in this maroon’s hands is a nightmare at best.

Hello would just like to say they are now looking at a four billion dollar subsidy for health care. Senate has mentioned that medicare could potentially go bankrupt and here is the best yet they want to have planned parent hood man clinics in every school where they could dispense counseling and health care to your children and you would have no say because you would not be told what went on. Everyone should watch c-span they would get an ear full. I think everyone needs to call their congressmen and senators and let them know what you think. you can do this by going to congress.org or white house .gov for contact info or calling 202 456 -1111. they talk about not letting illegal aliens have health care but have such weak legislation if this gets passed that one knows they will get the care. It is also interesting that none of them have been given much time so far to read the bills they are trying to pass. Then they want to fine you through the IRS if you do not get health insurance and they could use the IRS to go after you if you did not comply, hows that for a new tax. All of this has come out from their senate meetings I know I have been watching and listening. Many of them seem to forget we are their employer and when the time comes to vote we can and should fire everyone of them that saddle us with bad bills. We also need to push for laws that say bills must be read in full before a vote is taken and also get big money influence out of Washington by pushing for bills to be passed that limit the amount that anyone can contribute to candidates to $500 maybe that way they would actually work for the american people instead of special interests with big money. They seem to have no common sense.
