Remember when someone said dissent is the highest form of patriotism? Does anyone know who said it? Because it wasn’t Thomas Jefferson as so many insist.
At the link, you’ll see it was historian and activist Howard Zinn . And in what context did Mr. Zinn use the phrase? To protest the War on Terror.
So it’s OK - patriotic even - for those on the left to protest what they don’t believe in or support. But when those on the right do it for the same reason - they need to be silenced for unpatriotic behavior.

Why are they not paying more attention to the message put out by these unhappy individuals at these meetings instead of constantly floating and trying to insert the idea that this all falsely generated rage ? As someone said yesterday ” the meida is focuse on the MECHANICS of how this is happening instead of why.
Why cant they just come clean and base their stories on the fact that these are just ordinary self motivated citizens who are finally fed up ? Sure, I know that e mails were sent out asking people to attend and show their fellings. But those feelings are real, the anger is not “manufactured”.
Obama can dictate who CEOs a company.
He can regulate and have oversight/monitor pay for those execs
The dems previously by regulation managed to force banking inst. to make mortgages cheaper for certain demographics
Why cant they do the same to the health insurance industry so costs come down ?
Hes willing to assert govt strong arm techniques to other industries, why not the medical insurance industry ?
Because it would take away the opportunities to have more direct control over peoples lives. By placing stipulations to your public policy they can dictate where you live if that hood has an unhealthy environment that could make you sick they suggest/make you move. If you smoke or eat a lot or the wrong things they could hold your policy over you to make you change. Promoting green efforts thru dictating peoples diets. (dont eat meat, go organic etc…)
Why wont politicians be getting the same plan ? Why shouldn’t Obama and his family take it if its so damn great ?
Congress has been able to regulate the health care industry before. Clinton did it with the ” Newborns’ and Mothers’Health Protection Act “. Why couldnt Obama do something like that again ?
Were being corralled by an ingenuous plot with various tools that have been put in place already. Thats why I think this is really war. Were being steered into something all under the guise of being better for us and the country.
Green efforts, banking and housing, over taxation, health care… its all designed to keep people voting dem.
We all looked at his background leading during the campaigns. We were all told we were being paranoid when we saw who he associated with before, and even now.

Penni, have you been to one of these townhall meetings? If so, can you share your experience. Take your time I have all day. I have actaully been to two of them. They were well organized informative meetings. The only disruption was from one woman spouting poll numbers and popularity numbers, frankly I thought maybe you had made a trip to the great state of Texas. Seems this woman couldn’t discuss issues only spout numbers, hmmmmm sound familiar. So think again Penni its not about embarrassing the one. He doesn’t need help in that area, its one of the few he’s actually excelling at. It’s about being informed, it’s being concerned because as of yet noone has even read this entire bill. As you know that happen with the stimulus bill and we can all see how that’s working out.

Thats the way our forefathers designed our political system so that there could be healthy debate and there be opposition that could keep checks and balances against the other thereby chieving a level of democracy that is always at least somewhat tolerable even for the minority. You on the other hand respect none of that and instead due to your hateful blind spite would tear down any opposition in place with no intention of any kind of replacement so as to be able to rule with an iron dictative and autocratic fist.
Much of your party and people like you that represent it are no where near what the democratic party represented at its origin and up til 1930 thru 50. You and them have strayed so far from its original core values that to be headed or labeled by the title “democratic” as in “democracy” is a flying f*cking joke in the face of anyone who has the slightest education into our political process. There is nothing democratic in the way you propel your partys concerns or intentions Pennie.
While the right has gone thru its share of changes that also make it hardly recognizable at least its core value still stands for the citizen as a “ONE”, an individual. As one who is still entitled by right to his private property, the right to pursue happiness, exclusively own his own private property and operate in a free and capitalistic society, free from the consraints of large government, much like the one that built this country.
We believe that level of citizinery should apply to all Americans whereas with your party today you believe that you’re only entitle to any brand of democracy unless you’re loyal to the party first and the country second and as a collective will be managed by an ever increasing size of government bearing down on all elements that made us great to the point of oblivion and people of no free will or mind.
Any opposition to this grand scheme is to be cast away, discarded like rubbish and not even regarded as human by people the likes of you who carry on with your insane stupid hateful remarks. Even as far as to to mock the child with downs syndrome simply as a retaliation to the opposition.
As many have said on this blog. That example truly was a new level of low that even took me by surprise. Whats even more disgusting is that theres not one person (you or Jared) that has the humility and humanity to back up and realize that they’d just gone too far and in light of that apologized admitting their emotions got the best of them.
