president bush: how he wants to be remembered
November 29, 2008
there are just so many reasons why i love president bush. i already miss him. he said this in an interview today:
“I would like to be a person remembered as a person who, first and foremost, did not sell his soul in order to accommodate the political process. I came to Washington with a set of values, and I’m leaving with the same set of values. And I darn sure wasn’t going to sacrifice those values.”
“I’d like to be a president (known) as somebody who liberated 50 million people and helped achieve peace; that focused on individuals rather than process; that rallied people to serve their neighbor.”
sadly, president george w. bush hands over power to The One on Jan. 20, 2009.
update 11/29/08: i wanted to add this picture — just a little something for those who suffer from bds.
thank you president bush.

If he wanted to be remembered as someone who helped achieve peace, he should have done something peaceful. He’s going to go down in history for starting a very costly preemptive war against a country that was no threat to us at all.

kathy you may feel that way but talk to the people in lebanon, georgia, parts of africa, iraq and you will hear a different story.
no threat to us at all? 7+ years with no terrorism on our soil; i think that says it all.
thanks for your opinion. please come back. discourse is a good thing.

Kathy are you even watching the news?
Don’t you realize that astronomical feat that the President has accomplished by keeping us safe this long? You seem hung up on Iraq and you really do not see the big picture of Terrorism. Educate yourself and get out of the muck.

Am I even watching the news? How insulting.
I talk to people from Iraq all the time. They are traumatized and have no hope for the future. How many Iraqis have you talked to in the last month?

“I talk to people from Iraq all the time. They are traumatized and have no hope for the future. How many Iraqis have you talked to in the last month?”
You talk to them all the time? Where at? Have you been to Iraq? I spent 14 months there, got hit with an IED and lost both of my legs below the knee, and you know what? I don’t regret it one bit. I made wonderful friends with many Iraqis and the ones I talked to were happy to be free. They were happy to be able to talk about whatever they wanted to without having government agents kidnap them in the middle of the night, torture them, and murder them. They were happy to have the freedom to do what they want, when they wanted to. They were happy to not have to worry about being shot in the head and dumped into a mass grave.
So let me ask you kathy, how long have you spent in Iraq?????
